Local aficionados of craft beers have long lamented the demise of the New Knoxville Brewing Co. several years ago, the city's lone bottling brewery. But now a new company by the name of Marble City Brewing may soon give Knoxville its own brand of bottled beer once again.
On March 28, one Adam Palmer posted a job listing at probrewer.com for a head brewer: "Tennessee's newest brewery is the only packaging brewery in Knoxville and is currently seeking a head Brew Master position. This is a great opportunity for somebody who is hardworking, creative, and interested in being a part of a start up brewery."
Of course, Knoxville is teeming with microbrew fanatics, and the listing was quickly noticed--Phil Williams immediately sent us the link, and homebrewer Patrick Beeson blogged about it.
And now we have just confirmed that Marble City Brewing Company is in the final stages of negotiations to acquire the building and equipment used by the former New Knoxville Brewing Co. A source from Marble City stated that they anticipate having the acquisition completed by the end of April and then plan to begin renovations immediately.
Beer drinkers rejoice! We'll have all the details on the new brewery in an upcoming story.

Thanks for the link!
You should note that Smoky Mountain Brewery has their beer available in bottles in Knoxville-area stores. You can pick some up at Earth Fare in fact.
But choice in beer is always a good thing!
