This week's cover story about Seva David Ball's efforts to preserve the earliest recordings of the Moog synthesizer includes one unfortunate detail: The Grammy Foundation has provided only enough funding to save 30 tapes out of about 300.
While you are certainly welcome to make a direct donation to the Bob Moog Foundation, you can also help the cause in a particularly pleasurable way: buy some Moog Filtered Ale.
The Moog Foundation has joined with the Asheville Brewing Company to create this special, limited edition brew, and all proceeds from sales go directly to the foundation. And you can pick up a few cases at the May 27 fund-raiser, Moogus Operandi at the Orange Peel in Asheville.
Help save the Moog tapes and further the Moog Foundation's educational efforts, and drink up!
