The Daily Pulse:

Cole Slaw Controversy!

Last week, I noted in a spotlight on the new Frussie's Deli 2.0 that although the sandwiches are very similar to James Dicks' originals, the cole slaw was decidedly different. James' slaw recipe was honed to perfection, presenting the very essence of cabbage: thick slices adorned with a residue of some mysterious flavoring that did not overwhelm the inherent cabbageness of the vegetable itself.

That may sound seriously unappetizing, but it made for a uniquely tasty slaw--I always ordered it. The new Frussie's slaw was fine enough, but it didn't seem very different than any other cole slaw.

The Frussie's crew now presents photographic evidence of "properly prepared cole slaw," and it does look more James-like than the batch I had:

I suggest we all take a field trip to Frussie's (133 E. Moody) and test this cole slaw firsthand.
