The usual monthly assemblage of art gallery happenings and downtown diversions, arrayed in easy walking distance for your enjoyment. Special this month: an open house to see the new condos in the restored Southeastern Glass Building.

Friday, 7 p.m., Old City Courtyard. $5-$10.
Country chancer Matt Stillwell sings party songs about drankin' and dancin'. A better bet are openers Carter's Chord, three California sisters with sweet hooks and harmonies.

Friday, 8 p.m., Sweet P's Barbeque and Soul House. Free.
Groovy country-rock that sounds sometimes Dead-like, sometimes Jayhawksy. Kinda nice.

Saturday, 7 p.m., S&W Grand. Free.
If you've yet to catch Brown's great gigs at the S&W, this week is a good chance: His guest is the fine vocalist Kelle Jolly. 

Saturday, 8 p.m., Sweet P's Barbeque and Soul House. Free.
You love her, we love her, and she's playing at Sweet P's fer Pete's sake. What more do you want from a Saturday night?

Saturday, 10 p.m, Pilot Light. $10.
The thundering Rhode Island duo roar back to town. Bring your earplugs.

Sunday, 2-10 p.m., World's Fair Park. Free.
A daylong celebration of indie pendants, with stuff for kids and grown-ups, a ferris wheel on the Clinch Avenue viaduct, and live music starting at 5 p.m. It all culminates, of course, in the big fireworks show scheduled to start at 9:35.
