The Daily Pulse:

Midway Business Park Meetings Set

Last month, County Mayor Tim Burchett asked County Commission to postpone action on the proposed Midway Road business park for 60 days, so he could convene two more community meetings on the contentious project. Now the dates and places for those meetings have been set. According to a Burchett press release this afternoon, they will be: Tuesday, Nov. 16, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at Carter High School; and Thursday, Nov. 18, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at West High School. Rather than a debate or a public question and answer session, the meetings will allow people representing the various interests to set up information tables, answer questions, and receive comments and feedback from those attending. The county is also establishing a new page on its website to accept comments, at www.knoxcounty.org/midwayinput.
