The Daily Pulse:

Brandy Pearl's "Crucifixion" Post Goes Viral

The comment comparing her beleaguered husband to Jesus may have only been on Brandy Pearl's Facebook wall for a short time after she posted it Sunday night, but it was long enough for it to be screen-grabbed and circulated through the sports-blogging universe. By Tuesday afternoon, it had made it to the widely read blog Deadspin, and from there this morning to USA Today.

Brandy, wife of UT basketball coach Bruce Pearl, was obviously incensed by her husband's suspension for the first eight conference games on the Vols' SEC schedule. Sunday night, at least according to the apparently real Facebook post, she wrote, "Now I know of two Jewish men who have been crucified." The post has since been removed, but it has been widely reported and, as you'd expect, ridiculed. (It's possible Brandy is also upset about the financial impact of all of this, which adds up to a whole lot more than 30 pieces of silver; Bruce's renegotiated contract will cost him a reported $1.5 million over the next five years.)
