Even though it's only six songs, the new Scott Miller disc, Christmas Gift, is a doozy--it's a Christmas CD, for one thing, and it features R.B. Morris reading from T.S. Eliot's "Journey of the Magi," and it's got Miller covering three of his favorite songwriters (Roger Miller, Neil Young, and John Prine) on some just slightly off-kilter holiday songs.
It's officially out today; you can listen to it at Miller's Facebook page and order a copy at his official website. Miller has three area shows coming up: at the Down Home in Johnson City on Dec. 10 and Dec. 11, and at the Shed in Maryville for his traditional New Year's Eve show on Dec. 31.
