Way back in 2008, Swiss pianist/composer Nik Bartsch and his project Ronin played at the Bijou. (We profiled Bartsch here.) It was the first concert AC Entertainment billed as "Big Ears," which was an umbrella term for some of the company's underground/avant-garde/improv pet concerts in town before it became a full-fledged weirdo/alt-pop music festival in 2009.
Well, Bartsch and Ronin are coming back to the Bijou on Sunday, Feb. 27, according to Bartsch's label, ECM. (Thanks to former MP contributor Jonathan Frey for the heads-up.) Could that be the weekend of the third edition of the festival? Or will it be the next month, which might also accommodate the recently reunited Godspeed You! Black Emperor, who will be in Athens, Ga., and Nashville around the same time?
