The Daily Pulse:

Tour de Lights Delayed

The snow might have stopped falling, and sure, it might climb a few degrees above freezing today, but the crummy winter weather isn't going anywhere. And so, due to the likelihood of cold, crummy, soggy, slushy, rainy weather this Thursday night, the city's Tour de Lights holiday bike ride has been postponed until next week.

Coordinator Kelley Segars writes to say that everything will happen at the same time - 7 p.m. - leaving from the same place - Krutch Park - with all the same excitement - prizes for bikes with the best decorations; a six-mile jaunt around downtown, 4th & Gill and Old North Knoxville; hot cocoa. It will just now all be happening next Tuesday, Dec. 21, instead of tomorrow.

The current forecast for Tuesday is still a chilly one - highs in the upper 30s, lows in the 20s - but it's a sunny one. And as Segars points out, "This gives you another weekend to get battery-powered LED lights and put them on your bike, helmet, and/or trailer!"
