I have to admit, after I asked Stacey Campfield out on a date on Friday, I was secretly hoping to walk into my office this morning and find a vase full of flowers from our state senator.
Alas, on Sunday I received the following message via our website's contact form:

My immediate reaction was, "He thinks I'm cute!" This was promptly followed by, "But he doesn't want to go out with me? Why?" Then I thought,"Bacon? What does that have to do with it?" And then I wondered, "He's taken? Who on earth is Stacey dating?????"
On the off chance that Stacey didn't actually mean he has a significant other, and just that he already had a date for tonight's dinner and thus couldn't take me, I want to let it be known that I couldn't have gone tonight anyway - I already had plans to see Kevin Wilson. I do have room in my schedule for a drink this weekend or next, but I understand how it feels to fall in love, and I wouldn't want to spoil anything in his budding romance. I'm still disappointed, though ...
