The Daily Pulse:

The Saddest Story You Will Read All Week

We don't know much about construction, but we're pretty sure that two fatal accidents since January is an indication that something's wrong with the Henley Street Bridge project. Maybe some contractors are doing some things wrong, or maybe, as some have suggested, the bridge actually is haunted.

In any case, the KNS has a story today that details the life of Solin Estrada-Jimenez, the 47-year-old worker killed earlier this week. It turns out he was an undocumented worker from Mexico who had qualms about the safety of the project and longed to return home. It is an unbearably sad story, and one you need to read. Would having a guest worker program have prevented his death? We don't know. But this is yet more evidence (as if you needed it) as to how screwed up the immigration situation is nowadays.
