The Daily Pulse:

The Civil Wars: Oct. 8 at the Bijou Theatre

Back in February, when Nashville indie folk duo the Civil Wars last played in Knoxville, guitarist/singer John Paul White suggested in a Metro Pulse interview that their current club tour was getting cramped. The Civil Wars had just released their debut album, Barton Hollow, after a couple of years of regional striving, and it quickly topped the iTunes chart.

"I would say now, looking back, we underestimated how many tickets we'd sell to these venues," White said then. "But when we booked the venues it made a lot of sense."

White was right: The duo played that show at Pilot Light, which has a capacity of less than 100, and in a quick turnaround, they've just been announced for a headlining show at the Bijou Theatre, which holds six or seven times as many people.

The Civil Wars will play the Bijou on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 8 p.m. Tickets are $21.50 and will be on sale on Friday, July 1.
