The Daily Pulse:

Earthquake Reaches Into Knox County

We didn't feel anything here at Metro Pulse World Headquarters on Gay Street, but friends around town say that the 5.9-magnitude earthquake that shook the East Coast this afternoon shook things up locally, too. One Facebook friend in South Knoxville reports, "I thought my house was falling off the hill." Others noted less dramatic effects, like computer monitors shaking a little.

The quake was reportedly centered in Mineral, Va., about 360 miles from Knoxville. Tremors were reportedly felt as far afield as Boston and Cleveland.
