News comes from the Knoxville Chamber that it has been short-listed for the National Chamber of the Year award from the American Chambers of Commerce. We're not sure exactly what this means or what the criteria are, but apparently the Knox Chamber is up against its counterpart in Lincoln, Neb., for the 2011 trophy. There will be a round of final interviews on Wednesday, followed by the announcement of the winner on Thursday. We will sadly be unable to attend the awards dinner in Los Angeles, but we can only hope Chamber prez Mike Edwards manages to look suitably distinguished in his sash and tiara.
(Seriously, how can we lose to Lincoln? We have a Sunsphere, they have a telephone museum.)
