The Daily Pulse:

The Star Chamber

Whooo! They did it! According to late-breaking mass e-mail, the Knoxville Chamber has been named "Chamber of the Year" by the American Chamber of Commerce Executives, at their annual confab out in Los Angeles.

No, we don't really know what this means. Except that the Knox Chamber beat out its counterpart in Lincoln, Neb. -- take that, Cornhuskers! It now joins past winners like Tulsa, Oak Ridge, and Manatee, Fla., as a recipient of hosannas from its peers.

It also means that it is, apparently, easier to impress the American Chamber of Commerce Executives than it is to impress Knox County Commissioners voting on a Midway Business Park.
