Read the Knoxville Whig Online

Remember Jack Neely's cover story about the outspoken and rather complicated late editor and governor Parson Brownlow? We included a sidebar sampling some of his most interesting and/or outrageous writings, but now you can go straight to the source and read editions of his newspaper, the Knoxville Whig, from the 1850s and '60s. UT and the Tennessee State Library & Archives have been digitizing them, and a batch has been uploaded at the Library of Congress website.
