Worker Safety Memorial Walk and Candlelight Ceremony
Social justice activists and labor advocates will meet on Henley Street in front of Church Street United Methodist Church and march to Volunteer Landing underneath the Henley Bridge in memory of workers killed on the job in Tennessee in 2011, including two workers who died working on the reconstruction of the Henley Bridge.

The award-winning novelist will discuss her 2003 novel Evidence of Things Unseen, set in East Tennessee during the early years of the 20th century.
