The Daily Pulse:

R.I.P. Ed Corts

More bad news in Knoxville's music community: Ed Corts, long-time drummer for the Relentless Blues Band and former owner of the Corner Lounge, died Monday in Paducah, Ky. Corts had recently been diagnosed with cancer. He was 61.

Last April, local blues players performed a benefit show for Corts, who was suffering from an unrelated ailment. A second Corts benefit show, after his cancer diagnosis, was held in January.

Friends and family have created a "We Love Ed Corts" Facebook group.

The Paducah Sun has the official obituary. More details in next week's issue of Metro Pulse
