The Daily Pulse:

Donila's Stopping Blogging? Noooo!

It figures that a county government reporter would use a late Friday afternoon news dump to announce that he's retiring from the blogging scene. And, so, just a few minutes ago, KNS reporter Mike Donila posted his ostensibly final post on his sometimes scathingly funny and always informative blog, Screams from the Porch. Donila writes:

Dear readers:

Screams from da Porch is shutting down. Yup. No kidding. I had a good run, a fun run and whatever. All that. The blog even picked up a nice award.

But, it's taking up too much of my time and, quite frankly, I don't feel that recently  I've been able to put the same effort into it as I did when I first started.

So, before any rumors start flying, or my words get twisted: This is my decision. No one is forcing me to kill it. I could continue doing this. I have opted not to.

If you hear otherwise, there is no truth to it. I just don't have the time and if you're going to do a blog, then it should be done right, updated often, blah, blah.

We for one are sorry to see him go, even though we guess he really isn't physically going anywhere. But we'll miss all the behind-the-scenes gossip of the goings on at the City-County Building. And who else will call me "Cari 'Mean' Gervin"? (Oh, plenty of people, I know, I know. But whatever.) Anyway, farewell, Screams from the Porch. You shed some light for a while, and for that we should all be thankful.
