The Daily Pulse:

Burgers and Burritos, Oh My!

We may be losing one of our favorite restaurants this week, but two new places are on the way, so here's some news to cheer you up.

Crazy Good Burgers is a food truck that hopes to open soon -- if they can kickstart enough money to get their truck wrapped with signage displaying their logo. Their website says they will offer burgers and fries and shakes:

We grind our burgers fresh, hand cut our fries, make fresh-squeezed lemonade, and make sweet, unsweet, and a crazy good tea each and every day. We will also offer hand-spun milkshakes in chocolate and vanilla.

Yum! And yes, they are based in Morristown, but they have plans to get down to Knoxville a lot, so your contribution (if you're a fan of burgers and such) would probably be much appreciated by local foodies.

Ok, it's not like Knoxville needs another burrito place necessarily, but Barberitos is good, y'all. It was by far the best burrito option in Athens when I lived there, and now it's gone global -- well, it's expanded across the Southeast. I hate that the location isn't downtown, but I'm happy that it opens Monday. It's been far too long, my old friend.

Full press release follows:

Barberitos is a quick service restaurant offering fresh, Tex-Mex cuisine including a variety of burritos, tacos, salads, quesadillas and nachos made to order.

Committed to serving "farm fresh" food, Barberitos serves all natural vegetables delivered to stores and hand-cut daily. Whole breasts of chicken are grilled fresh, as is the high quality cuts of steak, and choice ground beef. Barberitos restaurants are not equipped with freezers or microwaves as all food is prepared fresh, with no fats or preservatives added at the time of preparation. Barberitos' salsas, guacamole, hot sauces, meat marinades, and salad dressings are made from scratch each day.

Each menu offering is prepared at the time it is ordered right in front of the customer.

Barberitos "7 Under 7" menu features seven items each under seven grams of fat including a mini grilled chicken burrito, jerk fish taco, and a variety of salads.

Barberitos provides full-service catering ranging from burrito boxed lunches to taco, salad, nacho, or fajita bar that can be customized to serve a few to several hundred people.

Barberitos has 26 restaurant franchise locations in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Tennessee, and Florida.
