The Daily Pulse:

Hand Over Your (Empty) Wallet!

Got an old wallet laying around that you aren't using? Good, you can give it to Will Work For Empty Wallets. They're a group started in Georgia who try to raise money and get help for people who are unemployed. They want your wallets so they can use them to make a replica of the American flag, which is slated to be taken around the Georgia university system. Heather Hutton is in charge of it, and as someone who was formerly unemployed in Knoxville (and now has a job), she wants to remind everyone to "pay it forward."

Hutton will have a stand at the Pride Festival on June 23 where she'll take those old wallets off your hands and show you how to make a new one out of recycle materials. She says her goal is to collect 3,000 empty wallets by Oct. 1, so go pay her a visit at Market Square at 3 p.m.

Check out the group's Facebook page for more information if you're interested in donating more than just your old wallet.
