The Daily Pulse:

WUOT is the "Best Overall"

Congratulations to our pals over at WUOT, the University of Tennessee's NPR station. They won "Best Overall" in the non-commercial division of the 2012 Tennessee Associated Press Broadcasters awards this month.

They also won a ton of other awards including first place for public affairs, continuing coverage, talk show, and swept the general and feature reporting categories.

"These awards are a testament to a lot of work, careful attention to detail and a commitment to covering East Tennessee in a way that informs and educates our listeners," said Matt Shafer Powell, director of news content at WUOT.

Director Regina Dean said she was also very proud of her team, and credited the work the station was able to do to the support of the station's listeners.

"They make what we do possible," she said.
