Cambridge, Mass., electronic pop band Passion Pit have canceled six upcoming shows, including their scheduled stop at the Valarium on Tuesday, July 17. Lead singer Michael Angelakos posted this message on the band's website earlier today:
On behalf of the band and myself, I would like to greatly apologize for the show cancelations. In order for me to ensure that there will be no further disruptions, I am going to take the time to work on improving my mental health. For now, I'd like to thank all of our fans for their understanding. I hope to see all of you very soon in a much different light.
No word yet on a rescheduled date, or whether there will be one.
Paige Huntoon interviewed PP guitarist/keyboardist Ian Hultquist last week to preview the show. You can read the interview here.
UPDATE: Passion Pit's publicist says the band is working on rescheduling the canceled dates now. More info when it's available.
