Whew! What a weekend! Does anyone else need a vacation from vacation? No? Didn't think so. At least we're not starting the week on a Monday, kids. In fact, here's a nice Tuesday lineup for you. Note that Jazz on the Square had its grand finale last night (if you didn't go!).
At the District Gallery, which opens at 10 a.m., horse-related arts and crafts by Donna Conliffe, Gary Dagnan, Ruth Koh, Jane Schmidt, and other artists will be featured. The show, called "The Equine Spirit," will be on display until Sept. 29. Get there before it's gone, horse lovers!
Tonight at Mulligan's Restaurant and Pizzeria, the Leadbetters will play at 7. Dinnertime entertainment anyone?
If you're feeling civic, the Knoxville City Council meets tonight at 7 in the main assembly room of the City County Building. There's lots of business on the agenda tonight, including a resolution to honor Sarah Moore Greene, authorizing Mayor Madeline Rogero to agree to partially demolish and relocate the Walter P. Taylor Homes and Lee Williams Senior Complex, and to authorize the $250,000 forgivable loan to the developers of the soon-to-be Urban Outfitters building on Market Street. Read last week's CityBeat as a refresher on why the developers need the money.
It's singer/songwriter night at the Preservation Pub! Be there at 8, 21+ crowd!
Guy Marshall and Water Liars will play a free show at the Well tonight at 9. For the 21+ crowd.
