The Daily Pulse:

The Daily Plan-It: Chuck Prophet, Contra Dancing, and Free Cheese Night

Good morning, kids! Got your scarves on? Staying warm? Good! Stay warm today and then enjoy the evening line up. Here's what's going on.

At noon, grab your brown bag and head over to the visitor center to listen to Uncle Jeff Hauan during WDVX's Blue Plate Special. That's a good time to show off your nifty new rain boots.

Tonight at 7, tune into WDVX to listen to alt-rocker Chuck Prophet perform live, along with the Tim Lee 3. If you'd like to see the performance live, tickets are $10 (student ID's will get you in for free during October!), and can be purchased at the WDVX studio or here.

If literature is more up your alley, award-winning poet Alice Friman will speak at UT's John C. Hodges Library tonight at 7 as part of the "Writers in the Library" series. The event is free and open to everyone!

The Knoxville Contra Dance will start at 7:30 p.m. at the Laurel Theatre. Tickets to attend are $3-$7. Beginners are welcome--no partner or experience necessary! Check out the Contra dancers' website for more info.

Wrap up the night at the Well's free cheese and comedy open mic night. Anyone who starts a tab gets free cheese. Worth. It. The show's free, and only open to the 21+ crowd.
