The Daily Plan-It: Writer's Group, Tom House, and Life Drawing Session

Good morning kiddies! Pour that second cup and come closer so we can talk about what's going on today while the caffeine kicks in.

At 10 a.m., head out to the Fall Porch Sale at the Appalachian Arts and Crafts Center in Norris. Now's your chance to pick up some nice artwork for your house at bargain prices. The next porch sale won't be till the spring.

The Knoxville Writers' Group will be meeting at Naples at 11 a.m. Poet Marilyn Kallett will discuss writing in France. Admission is $12, which includes lunch. Not a bad deal, you writerly types. Call (865) 983-3740 for more information.

Today at noon, stop by the farmer's market to grab a bite, and then head to the visitor center to see Tom House perform for WDVX's Blue Plate Special with Rachel Van Slyke. It's free to see this veteran musician--don't pass up the opportunity!

This evening at 5, grab your sketching supplies and head over to the Candoro Arts and Heritage Center for a $10 life drawing session. It's an informal meeting for artists to practice drawing live models with no instruction. You don't even have to be a member of anything! Call (865) 573-0709 for more info.

Tonight at 8, the Figgs will play at the Well with Mic Harrison and the High Score. Cover is $7, and it's for the 21+ crowd only. Don't miss these 25-year power-pop stalwarts!

If you're feeling up for a late night, the Royal Hounds will play at the Preservation Pub tonight at 10. Cover is $3; for the 21+ crowd only.
