The Daily Plan-It: Bike and Pedestrian Coalition Meeting, LINDSAY BUCKINGHAM, and La Boheme

Good morning, kids! Everyone have a good weekend? Excellent. Here's what's going on today.

The Southern Appalachian International Film Festival starts today at 10 a.m. at Pellissippi State Community College's Hardin Valley campus. A full lineup of the films, their times, and where they'll be screened are on the festival's website. Did I mention it's free to attend? Check out those movies, y'all.

Janusz Kapusta, a Polish artist now based in New York, has an exhibit at UT's Ewing gallery, which opens at 11 a.m. Get there at lunchtime to get a glimpse of "Rhapsody in D-Kron," because tonight Kapusta will be at the gallery this evening at 5:30 to discuss his work. The exhibit will be on display through Nov. 14. 

Hey, bikers and pedestrians! Interested in joining a coalition to address your concerns with motorists? The YMCA on Jessamine St is hosting a meeting tonight at 6 to discuss options for forming such a coalition. For more info, check out the Facebook event page (and share if you wish). 

David Madden, an East Tennessee novelist, will be at UT's Hodges Library tonight at 7 as part of the Writers in the Library series. Literary nerds, take note! It's free to attend and chat with him.

Guys, Lindsay Buckingham is playing tonight at 8 at the Bijou Theatre. Tickets to this epic show are $40.50. Buy them here. This is one show that is not to be missed!!

The UT Opera Theatre will present "La Boheme" tonight at 8 at the Carousel Theatre. Tickets are $5-$15. Buy them here.

It's Free Cheese and Comedy Open Mic Night at the Well! It starts at 9 p.m., and you get free cheese (YES!) if you open a tab. It's free to get in and enjoy the amateur comedians. 21+ only.

If you're still up and at 'em at 10 p.m., check out the Great Barrier Reefs at the Preservation Pub. Cover is $3. 21+ only.
