The Daily Plan-It: New Art, Zumba, and the Writers' Guild

Happy Dia de los Muertos and All Saints' Day! It's officially November, so finish up that Halloween candy as fast as you can to make room for Turkey Day festivities. Here's what's going on today.

The Ewing Gallery at UT opens at 10 a.m. and has a new exhibit form Polish artists Janusz Kapusta ("Rhapsody in K-Dron"), who is now based in New York. Admission is free! Go check it out!

At 11 a.m., pack up the kids and take them to Smart Toys and Books for children's story time. It's free to attend. For more info call (865) 691-1154.

At 6 p.m., head over to Southside Baptist Curch for a Zumba class with Carrie Jackson, followed by an abs class. It's $5 to join the class. 

At 7 p.m., join the Knoxville Writers' Guild at the Laurel Theatre. Admission is $2, and winners of the 2012 Writers' Guild contest will read and discuss their pieces.

Tonight at 8, the Whigs will play the Square Room with Kuroma. Tickets are $13-$15. Buy them here.

At 9 p.m., the Vaygues--a mod, garage, 60's-R&B band--will play at the Well with Dullahan. The show's free! Get there if you're 21+!

The Preservation Pub will host Michael Davis and the Teleplows, Hudson K, Katie Powderly, and Mike Brock tonight at 10 p.m. Cover is $3. 21+ only.
