Good morning, kiddies! Today's the big day--get out there and vote! Vote for someone, against someone, for whatever reason you can come up with. Just get out there and vote. It's your civic duty. But if you'd like Metro Pulse's suggestions on how to vote, read through our endorsements. Be sure to have both your voter registration card and your approved ID ready when you get there (it makes it easier for the volunteers to get you back to the voting machines quicker). If you want to double check where your polling location is, or which forms of ID are approved to vote, PLEASE take a quick click over to the Knox County Election Commission's website. Polls close at 8 p.m. Be there or be square, friends.
Now, here's what else is going on today.
The Emporium Center for Arts and Culture are hosting a bunch of new exhibits. Among them are Sally Ham Govan and Bill Cook Jr.'s "Drawn and Carved," which includes sculptures, drawings, and digital art from the two locals, and Marcia Goldstein's "Collection/Re-Collection."
At noon, grab your lunch and head to the visitor center to see the HillBenders play at at WDVX's Blue Plate Special. No admission charge.
If you've voted by 6 p.m., reward yourself with a two-hour bike ride starting at the Knoxville Outdoor Adventure Center. Afterwards, you get free beer. It's really a two-fer, and even better because it's free to join the group for a ride. Bike rentals are available at the Adventure Center.
But if biking isn't up your alley, try Pilates. There's a class tonight at 6:30 at Beaver Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Your first class there is free, and $3 for every class after that. Call (865) 622-3103 or email email@example.com for more info.
If you're thinking Mulligan's Restuarant and Pizzeria for dinner tonight, head over around 7 to catch the Leadbetters play.
If you're really not interested in voting results, check out Witch Mountain, who's playing with Castle tonight at the Pilot Light at 10. Cover is $5. 18+ only.
