The Daily Pulse:

The Daily Plan-It: Volunteering Opportunity, Open Auditions, and Manheim Steamroller

Good morning, you crazy kids! Did anyone go ahead and drink too much eggnog this weekend? Good thing it's officially acceptable to do that. Since you all are ostensibly busy getting your holiday shopping done, we're taking it easy today.

If you need a diversion at any point today, head over to the Frank H. McClung Museum, which opens at 9 a.m., and check out the "Zen Buddhism and Arts of Japan" exhibit if you haven't already.

At noon, Jack Wolf, and Amherst, Mass. natives Rusty Belle will be playing at WDVX's Blue Plate Special at the visitor center. Remember to brown bag your lunch, but there are drinks for sale there.

Looking for a volunteering opportunity? Shangri-La Therapeutic Academy of Riding is holding a volunteer training class for their program which serves special needs children and adults. The best part? No horse experience is necessary. The session tonight is for junior volunteers (ages 10-12), but call (865) 988-4711 for more info on when people ages 13+ can get their training next.

The Foothills Community Players theater company is holding open auditions for the group's upcoming production of "Hay Fever," by Noel Coward, which will run in Februrary. Head over to Chilhowee Sportsman's Club from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. to audition.

Manheim Steamroller will be rollin' into the Knoxville Civic Auditorium and Coliseum at 7:30. Tickets are $46-$76. Buy them here.
