The Daily Plan-It: Art Market's 30th Anniversary, a KJO Tribute, and Josh Oliver

Good morning! Did everyone get rid of their hangovers? Good. Welcome to the first Plan-It of 2013 (who's had to change the "2" to a "3" yet?). Here's what's going on.

The Art Market Gallery is celebrating its 30th anniversary! It opens at 11 a.m. today with a new show, which features work by some of the gallery's earliest members, including Hugh Bailey, Mary Ann Aken, B.J. Clark, Alice Clayton, Fran Henley, Patricia Herzog, Emilia Pickett, Carol Pritcher, and Marilyn Avery Turner. The show will run through the 27th.

Today at noon in the Square Room, the KJO will pay tribute to Freddie Hubbard during its Jazz Lunch. Thomas Heflin, a New York trumpeter, former Vol, and founding member of the Knoxville Jazz Orchestra, will join today's ensemble. Tickets are $15. Buy them here or at the door.

After dinner (and maybe happy hour), head over to the Baker Peters Lounge to listen to the Faculty, who go on stage at 7 p.m. 21+ only.

Josh Oliver, who plays in bands for the everybodyfields and Jill Andrews, will perform solo at Boyd's Jig and Reel tonight at 7. No cover. 18+ only.

Hey, folks in Maryville (Maryvillians? Maryville-ites? Tell me what you call yourselves!)! If you're into the blues, Brackins Blues Club is playing host to Robert Higginbotham and the Smokin' Section for a jam at 9 p.m. 21+ only.
