The Daily Pulse:

The Daily Plan-It: Greg Horne, Whitechapel, and an Icy Bike Ride

Good morning, friends! Another day older and deeper in debt. But onward! To the important stuff!

At 10 a.m., the Blount County Public Library in Maryville is hosting a story time hour for kiddos around 3-5 years old. Could be a good way to get them out of the house this morning.

At noon in the visitor center, Rockwood Ferry will perform for WDVX's Blue Plate Special with country-folk singer/songwriter Greg Horne. Horne just released a new album--he could be playing some new material. Go check out the free entertainment.

Also at noon, the Cancer Support Community of East Tennessee will have a class on diet and nutrition for cancer patients and survivors. Call (865) 546-4661 for more info.

At 6 p.m., six-piece death metal band Whitechapel will headline at the NV Nightclub with Emmure, Unearth, Obey the Brave, and the Plot in You. Tickets are $18-$22. Buy them here

Retired aquatic ecologist Gerry Eddlemon, who worked at the Oak Ridge National Lab, will give a talk tonight at 7 at the Tennessee Valley Universalist Unitarian Church about his bike ride across Alaska from the Pacific coast to the Arctic coast in record time. It's free to go listen to his story!

Tonight at 8, Einstein Simplified, Knoxville's improv group, will take the stage at the Well. There's no cover tonight! 21+ only.
