The Daily Pulse:

The Daily Plan-It: Lunchtime Musical Stylings, Yoga, and Free Cheese

Good morning, kids! Congrats on making it out of bed on a Monday morning, yo. That's no easy feat. So as a reward, you get a few suggestions for what to do today.

Locals Geri Forkner and Elizabeth Porter have teamed up for the exhibit "Alternate Realities," a collection of collages, paintings, and drawings. It's on display at the Emporium Center for Arts and Culture through Jan. 25. As always, there's no charge to go check out the art on display.

Up for some lunchtime entertainment? There are two free options at noon. At WDVX's Blue Plate Special, the Newbees will be performing with Les Kerr. But if you're into something a little different, check out the Tennessee Theatre's Mighty Musical Monday. This monthly (free!) event features guest artists who perform on the theater's Might Wurlitzer organ. So take your pick.

At 5:30 p.m., the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church will host a gentle yoga and meditation class. It's free, but donations are accepted. Call (865) 577-2021 or email for more info.

At 7 p.m., the Good Questions will play at the Baker Peters Lounge. 21+ only.

The Well's Comedy Con Queso (aka Free Cheese and Comedy Night!) starts at 9 p.m. Open a tab, you get some cheese. Oh yeah, and there's some nifty stand-up routines involved. Go chuckle while you eat cheese, kids. No cover; 21+ only.
