Good morning! Hope everyone wore their rain jackets and boots this morning. Might need 'em for later, too. So while we're all swimming around the streets of Knoxvegas today, here's what you can paddle to.
This morning (before the streets start flooding, even), check out Geri Forkner and Elizabeth Porter's art exhibit "Alternate Realities," which combines collages, paintings, and drawings from the artists. The exhibit's on display at the Emporium Center for Arts and Culture, which opens at 9 a.m. It's free to go check it out!
At noon (you might be sloshing around by then), make your way to the visitor center to listen to Laura Thurston at WDVX's Blue Plate Special, along with the Secret B-Sides (who'll also be playing at Barley's tonight at 8). Bring your lunch for some free entertainment.
After work, paddle your life boat over to the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church for a gentle yoga and meditation session. Donations are accepted. Call (865) 577-2021 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more info.
Wrap up the evening at the Well during Comedy Con Queso Open Mic Night. That's right. "queso"=cheese. No quotation marks there. Open a tab, you get free cheese. Oh, yeah. And there will be some funny folks cracking jokes starting at 9 p.m. Cover's free tonight! 21+ only.
