The Daily Pulse:

The Daily Plan-It: Used Book Sale, Zumba, and the Boom Box and Strings Hip Hop Show

Good morning, kids! Who's excited for the "snow?" (The quotation marks are an insurance policy in case the snow turns out to be slush.) Anyway, another day to stay inside (unless it snows!), so here are some ideas for you.

At 11, take the kiddos to Smart Toys and Books for (free) story time. Call (865) 691-1154 for more info.

The Blount County Public Library's used book sale (and fundraising event) starts at noon, and only open to members. Memberships are available at the door. Paperbacks are $1, and hardbacks are $2.50. Can't get any better than that!

Also at noon, the 2013 MLK Celebration Commission will hand out awards to Knoxville's civil rights leaders at the Marriott. Call (865) 673-8988 for more info.

Back at the Blount County Public Library, there will be a free introductory computer class at 2 p.m. Call (865) 273-1436 for more info.

Still looking for a new work out? Carrie Jackson teaches a zumba class at 6 p.m. at Southside Baptist Church for $5.

The KSO Concertmaster Series will continue at 7 p.m. at Remedy Coffee in the Old City. Tickets are $15. You can call (865) 291-3310 to reserve tickets if you'd like.

The Well's Boom Box and Strings Hip-Hop Show starts at 9 p.m. Featured performers include DJ Nyce One, J-bush, Dopplegangsta, t.ANT, Mr. Kook, and MC.DTec. Cover is $5. 21+ only.
