Good morning, kids! Who's excited for the weekend after all those rough back-to-work days we've had for the past two weeks? Anyway, glad we all made it through. Here's how to celebrate your survival this weekend.
The Emporium Center for Arts and Culture has a new set of artwork on display, and it includes Maryville College art prof Carl Gombert's "Radiant Geometries," a collection of drawings and prints. If you miss it during the day, head over there for the First Friday reception this evening.
Grab your lunch at noon and head over to the visitor center to see The Barefoot Movement play for WDVX's Blue Plate Special with Lulu Mae. It's free, as always, to enjoy the lunchtime entertainment. The Barefoot Movement will also be at Boyd's Jig and Reel tonight at 9.
The Art Market Gallery's big 30th anniversary party is tonight from 5:30 to 9 p.m. While you're there celebrating, check out the displayed work from some of the gallery's first members.
The Well will host a blues showcase tonight at 8 p.m., and will feature Labron Lazenby, Bob Goodson, Robert Knapp, Big Gene, and Sean Stewart. Cover's $5. 21+ only.
Tom Pappas, formerly of Superdrag, will play at Barley's Taproom and Pizzeria tonight at 10 p.m. with the Birdwings. The show's free. Don't miss it! 21+ only.

Texas comic and Blue Collar Comedy Tour alum Ron White will perform his stand up routine at the Tennessee Theatre at 7 and 9:30 p.m. The first show is sold out, but tickets are still available for the second show. Tickets are $48-$58. Buy them here.
Blues act Kitty Wampus will play at Irish Times Pub and Restaurant at 9 p.m. 21+ only.
Pegasi 51 will play at the Well at 10 p.m. with the Melungeons. Cover is $5. 21+ only.
After brunch, head over to the Knoxville Museum of Art to see the East Tennessee Regional Student Art Exhibition. The museum opens at 1 p.m. and the artwork is only up for one more week. See it before it's gone!
After dinner, check out Dan Nissenbaum at Barley's Taproom and Pizzeria when he plays at 8 p.m. The show's free and open to everyone.
