The Daily Pulse:

Know an Awesome Woman? Tell the YWCA.

The YWCA wants your nominations for outstanding women in the Knoxville community who deserve acknowledgement and appreciation for their contributions at the organization's Tribute to Women event on Aug. 15.

The nomination process this year is simpler and easier than years past, according to a YWCA press release. There are no more categories, and all nominations will be accepted. The YWCA will also accept nominations for all-female groups (each group will be considered one nominee). Nominees must reside, be employed, or be active in Anderson, Blount, Granger, Jefferson, Knox, Loudon, Roane, Sevier, or Union counties.

The nomination forms are available on the YWCA's website. The forms must be completely filled out and postmarked, emailed, or hand delivered by 11 p.m. May 1. The nominee must sign the nomination to verify that all the information is true and accurate.

Later in the spring, 18 finalists will be announced, and six women will be chosen from that group to be honored at the August Tribute to Women event.
