The Daily Pulse:

Knox Heritage Wants The Most Endangered Historic Places in Knox County

Knox Heritage is looking for nominations for the "Fragile Fifteen--" the most endangered historic places in Knox County.

Every May, which is National Preservation Month, Knox Heritage releases a list of the Fragile Fifteen to let the public and local leaders know about "the plight of significant historic resources," according to the organization's press release. Preservation strategies will be developed for the fifteen most endangered places for the next year. Knox Heritage will take nominations until 5 p.m. March 22.

To be eligible for a place on the list, each nomination must include this information: street address and name (if applicable), the nature of the threat to the property, the name and contact information for the person or group submitting the nomination, any known historical information about the property, and the name and contact info for the current property owner (if available).

Nomination forms are posted on Knox Heritage's website. You can print and mail the form to: Knox Heritage's Fragile Fifteen, P.O. Box 1242, Knoxville, TN 37901; email a form to hcook@knoxheritage.org; or fax one to (865) 523-0938.
