The Daily Plan-It: Books Sandwiched In, Joshua Robbins, and Tift Merritt

Happy Hump Day! We're halfway through the week! Now take a look at what's going on today.

Hey, bookworms! This one's for you! The Knox County Public Library's series Books Sandwiched In (hehe, bring your sandwich, people), continues this week at noon in the East Tennessee History Center with a discussion of Steven Pinker's The Better Angels of Our Nature: Why Violence Has Declined. It's free to attend!

Poet/UT instructor Joshua Robbins will be at the McClung Tower to discuss his new collection at the Chat 'n' Nosh event. It starts at 3 p.m. and it's free to attend.

At 6 p.m., Circle Modern Dance will lead an intermediate/advanced modern technique class at the Emporium Center for Arts and Culture. The first class you take with the group is free, and each class after that is $5. Experience not necessary, but recommended. 

Tonight at 7 at Remedy Coffee, catch the documentary Theologians Under Hitler about the church's role in Nazi Germany (it's an hour long), followed by a discussion with local religious leaders. It's free to attend!

Alternative (/country) musician Tift Merritt will play at the Square Room tonight at 8.Tickets are $18. Buy them here.

Jack's Shadow will play at the Preservation Pub tonight at 10. Cover's $3. 21+ only.
