The Daily Pulse:

The Daily Plan-It: Climate Change Discussion, Carlos Mencia, and Sol Driven Train

Good morning, everyone! We're finally on the downward slope toward the weekend (just try not to pull a Lindsey Vonn). Grab yourself a cup of coffee and take a look at what's going on today.

At noon, Brandywine and Kevin Abernathy will play at WDVX's Blue Plate Special in the visitor center. Grab your lunch and hoof it over there for some free lunchtime entertainment.

This afternoon from 2 to 4, the Blount County Public Library will have an introductory computer class. It's free to attend! Call (865) 273-1436 for more info.

The Amused Life Collective will have a zumba class tonight at 5:30. It's $5 to drop in and join the 45-minute latin dance/fitness class.

At 7 p.m., UT professor Scott E. Schlarbaum, who teaches forest genetics, will give a lecture at Roane State Community College called "Why All the Concern About Climate Change?" It's free to attend!

Comedy Central's Carlos Mencia will be at Sidesplitters Comedy Club tonight at 8. Tickets to see his show are $30. Buy them here.

Jazzy rock and R&B Charleston band Sol Driven Train will play at the Well tonight at 9 with Vagabond Philosophy. It's $8 to get in. 21+ only.

If you're still out at 10, head over to the Preservation Pub, where Atlanta-based postpunk indie band the Sexual Side Effects are playing. No cover. 21+ only.
