The Weekend Plan-It: Quart Jar, Patterson Hood, and Hurricanes of Love

Good morning, friends! Let us help you plan your weekend. Here are some ideas.

At 11 a.m., the Ijams Nature Center will have a class on how to grow flowers and vegetables in the city. It's free to attend, so get to work, you urbanites. Call (865) 577-4717 for more info.

Starting at 2 p.m., the visitor center will have free arts and crafts available for kiddos to make. All ages are welcome.

Bluesman and Morristown native Wallace Coleman will play at the Knoxville Museum of Art at 6 p.m. Admission is $5-$9. 

Pru Clearwater will be at Yoga Haven at 7 p.m. It's $15 to attend and enjoy some meditative tunes. 

Quart Jar will play at Union Play at 8 p.m. It's $5 to see the show. 21+ only.

NV Nightclub will host MartyParty, Thump, Drug Money, and 5683 at 9 p.m. Tickets are $10. Buy them here. 18+ only.

Loni Love, who has appeared on Chelsea Lately, will be at Sidesplitters Comedy Club at 10 p.m. 18+ only.

Start the morning right with some zumba at the Amused Life Collective at 9 a.m. It's $5 to drop in and join the class.

The Children's Museum of Oak Ridge will host an International Festival, which will feature food and crafts from around the world, and entertainment. It's $10-$12 to attend. Here's the schedule of events

Hey, quilters! The Knoxville Modern Quilt Guild will have its annual meet and greet at the Powell Branch Library from 1:30 to 3:30. You can go meet current members, and join the guild if you'd like. 

As part of UT's cello workshop, the faculty will perform in a recital at 6 p.m. in the Alumni Memorial Building. It's free to attend! 

Patterson Hood will play at the Bijou Theatre with Dylan LeBlanc at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25. Buy them here.

At 10, Guy Marshall, O Youth, and LipLipLip Hands will play at the Preservation Pub. 21+ only.

For $10, you can upcycle some old materials--watches, jewelry, fabric, etc--at Ijams Nature Center from noon till 4 p.m. Sounds like a good post-brunch activity.

Circle Modern Dance will have an open-level class on modern dance techniques at the Emporium Center for Arts and Culture at 2 p.m. The first class you take with the group is free, and $5 for every subsequent class. No experience necessary!

The Knoxville Vegan Supper Club will meet at 5 p.m. at the First Seventh-Day Adventist Church on Kingston Pike. Join them for a plant-based meal and lecture. 

The Preservation Pub's Upstairs Underground Stand-Up Comedy Show starts at 8 p.m. 21+ only.

The Hurricanes of Love will play at the Pilot Light at 10 p.m. with Buck Gooter. It's $5 to see the show. 18+ only.
