The Daily Plan-It: Comic-Drawing Workshop, Mary Poppins, and Hudson K

Good morning! Did your boat get you to your destination this morning? Got your second cup of coffee? Good. Now take a look at what's going on this rainy Tuesday.

Pat Hull will play at the visitor center at noon for WDVX's Blue Plate Special with the Mumbles. Tune in or head over with your lunch for some free entertainment.

Then this evening at 5:30, the Amused Life Collective will have a ballet barre burn class. It's $5 to drop in and join the class or $25 for six classes.

At 6 p.m., Eisner-winning cartoonist Gene Yang will give a workshop for kids on writing and drawing comics at the East Tennessee History Center. Yang is the author of the graphic novel American Born Chinese. It's free to attend, but kids do have to be registered. Call (865) 215-8700 or go to the Knox County Public Library's website to register online.

Tonight at 7:30 it's Broadway at the Tennessee when "Mary Poppins," which first came to the stage in 2004, makes stop at the Tennessee Theatre. Tickets to the show are $37-$77. Buy them here.

At 8 p.m., catch Einstein Simplified, Knoxville's improv group, at the Well. No cover! 21+ only.

Hudson K will play at the Preservation Pub tonight at 10 with the Royal Buzz. Cover's $3. 21+ only.
