The Daily Pulse:

The Daily Plan-It: Sweet G.A. Brown, Jim Moran, and Appalachian Dancing

Good morning and happy Pi Day, my fellow nerds! While there are no official Pi Day celebrations on our calendar, I'm sure you'll be able to find something cool to do today.

At noon in the visitor center, Sweet G.A. Brown will play for WDVX's Blue Plate Special with Cutthroat Shamrock (catch 'em before their St. Patty's concert tomorrow!). Grab your lunch and take advantage of the free entertainment.

From 1 to 4 p.m., the UT gardens will have a gardening and botanical class for home-schooled students. It's $5 to attend.

Jim Moran, the director of the Hamilton Wood Type and Printing Museum in Wisconsin, will be on hand at UT's University Center at 5:30 p.m. to talk about his work and the preservation efforts being made by the museum. It's free to attend.

Tonight at 7:30 at the Laurel Theatre, indulge in some traditional Appalachian dancing. It's $5-$7 to attend.

At 8 p.m., the Carousel Theatre will present "The Tall Boy," a one-woman play about a relief worker and three boys who have been displaced from their homes after WWII. It's free to attend and open to the public.

At 9 p.m., Jason and the Punknecks will play at the Well with Sidecar Symposium. Cover is $5. 21+ only.
