The Daily Plan-It: Eilen Jewell, 'A Memory, a Monologue' Reading, and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band

Good morning! And so another Monday is upon us. Fortify yourselves with caffeine and take a look at what's going on today.

After work, head over to the Amused Life Collective for the hip hop heat dance workout class. It starts at 5:30 and costs $5 to attend. 

Seattle hardcore band Emery will play at NV Nightclub at 6 p.m. with Wolves at the Gate, the Seeking, Peace Mercutio, and Everley. It's $12-$15 to attend. Buy tickets here.

Eilen Jewell will play for WDVX's Tennessee Shines series tonight at 7 at the visitor center (and on the radio). Tickets are $10, and can be purchased at the noon Blue Plate Special or at the door.

The Sexual Assault Center of East Tennessee and the UT theatre department will present a staged reading of the acclaimed anthology A Memory, a Monologue, a Rant, and a Prayer: Writings to Stop Violence Against Women and Girls at the Carousel Theatre tonight at 7:30. It's $5-$10 to attend.

The long-running hippie-country Nitty Gritty Dirt Band will play at the Bijou Theatre at 8 p.m. with Hank Williams' granddaughter Holly Williams. Tickets are $35. Buy them here.

Wrap up the night at the Well's Comedy Con Queso Comedy Open Mic Night. If you open a tab, you get free cheese (and laughs). There's no cover! 21+ only.
