The Daily Plan-It: New Millennium Writings, the Scruffy City Ramble, and Belly Dancing

Good morning! Looks like we all made it to Thursday, and that's always a good thing. So take a look at what's going on today.

At noon in the visitor center, Laura Cortes will play for WDVX's Blue Plate Special with Jami Lynn and Dylan James. As always, it's free to attend. Bring your lunch!

At 12:30 in Pellissippi State's cafeteria annex, business and economics department faculty members will be on hand to discuss "Business Practices and Sustainability" as part of the Green Bag Lunch Series. It's free to attend, and there are free cookies and drinks involved. Bring your lunch!

The UT Gardens will host "Home Grown" homeschool gardening and botanical classes today from 1 to 4 p.m. It's $5 to attend.

At 6 p.m. at Union Avenue Books, contributors to Don Williams' anthology New Millennium Writings will read their work. 

Tonight's Scruffy City Ramble (at 7 p.m. in the Square Room) will feature Southern Culture on the Skids, Gangstagrass, Andrew Duhon, and Chuck Mead. Tickets to the show are $10. Buy them here.

Heading out for drinks tonight? Daniel Shifflett and Friends will be playing some live jazz tunes at the Bistro at the Bijou at 9 p.m. It's free to attend!

Progressive funk outfit the Fritz will play at the Preservation Pub at 10 p.m. with the Jonathan Scales Fourchestra. Cover is $3. 21+ only.
