The Daily Plan-It: Senior Softball League, Tax Assistance, and Dizzy Atmosphere

Good morning! We made it through Monday, so take a look at how you can muscle through Tuesday.

The Knox Senior Co-Ed Softball League (which is non-competitive and for seniors 55+) will meet at Caswell Park at 9 a.m., and at the same time every Tuesday and Thursday. There's just a $10 fee to join the league.

It's the last full week to finish up those taxes! There will be volunteers at the Goodwill Industries of Knoxville on Kingston Pike today from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. to help low- to moderate-income families file their federal returns. Volunteers will be available through April 13. Call (865) 588-8567 for more info.

Jacob Green will play for WDVX's Blue Plate Special at noon in the visitor center with the Mac Daddies today. Grab your lunch and head over there for some free entertainment.

If your kiddos are decidedly indoor people, take them over to the Blount County Public Library at 4 p.m. for some crafts and activities after school. Kids in grades K through 6 are welcome to join in. It's free to attend!

Beaver Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church will have a pilates class tonight at 6:30. It's $3 to join the class today, or $15 for a month of classes. For more info, call (865) 622-3103 or email roxy@knoxvillepersonaltraining.com.

Wolf-Dietrich Niemeier, director of the German Archeological Institute at Athens, will be at the Frank H. McClung Museum tonight at 7:30 to discuss cult continuity from the Mycenaean Age to the Roman Imperial Period. It's free to attend and open to the public.

Trumpeter Sean Jones and the Knoxville Jazz Orchestra will pay tribute to the big band tunes of Dizzy Gillespie tonight at 8 p.m. at the Bijou Theatre. Tickets to the "Dizzy Atmosphere" show are $15-$29.50. Buy them here.

If you're still out and about at 10 p.m., head over to Barley's Taproom and Pizzeria to catch the Howlin' Brothers, a Nashville Americana band, play a free show. 21+ only.
