The Daily Plan-It: Summer Planting Class, Carnicus 2013, and Apache Dropout

Good morning! Today is the perfect date! Not too hot, not too cold--all you need is a light jacket! (Miss Congeniality, anyone? No?) Anyway, take a look at what's going on today.

At noon in the visitor center, Jenn Franklin will play for WDVX's Blue Plate Special with Kristen Cothron and the Dark Side. As always, it's free to attend. Bring your lunch!

Pellissippi State communication graphics technology students will show off their skills in the graphic design showcase featured at the Bagwell Center for Media and Art. It's free to attend!

At 5 p.m., there will be a summer planting class at Beardsley Community Farm. Despite the cool temps today, we all know summer's just around the corner. Get there for some tips for that garden of yours.

At 6 p.m., Carrie Jackson will lead a zumba and abs class at Southside Baptist Church. It's $5 to take the class.

UT's annual student group variety show Carnicus 2013, where the groups will present skits about campus life. Tickets to the show are $10-$15. Buy them here.

Knox Dance Worx will have a belly dance class for beginners tonight at 8. It's $12 to attend the class. Call (865) 898-2126 or email for more info.

J.D. Cable and Marcus Ott will play at the Irish Times Pub for a night of acoustic country and southern rock. It's free to attend!

Indiana trio Apache Dropout will play at the Pilot Light at 10 p.m. with the Gun Outfit and Psychic Baos. It's $5 to get in. 18+ only.
