The Daily Plan-It: War of 1812 Genealogy, Manuela Formichella, and Les Claypool's Duo de Twang

Good morning and happy Hump Day! We're halfway through the week, so hang in there and check out what's going on around town today.

The Brown Bag Lecture today at noon in the East Tennessee History Center will feature UT chemistry professor Dr. George K. Schweitzer, a nationally known genealogy lecturer, who will discuss "War of 1812 Genealogy." It's free to attend!

Artists! At 2 p.m., there will be a life drawing session at the Candoro Arts and Heritage Center. For $10, you can sketch or paint live models without instruction. No membership required. For more info call (865) 573-0709.

Italian soprano Manuela Formichella will perform works of Italian salon music composer Francesco Paolo Tosti at the UT Alumni Memorial Building at 6 p.m. It's free to attend!

Primus bassist/band leader Les Claypool's new project with guitarist Marc "Mirv" Haggard, called the Duo de Twang, will perform acoustic versions of Primus songs and classic country tunes tonight at 8 at the Bijou Theatre. Tickets are $27.50-$29.50. Buy them here.

Also at 8, Calico Theory will play at the Blackstock Exchange with January Avenue. The show's free to attend!

Wrap up the night at the Well, where Patrick Sweany will perform at 9. It's $5 to get in. 21+ only.
