The Daily Pulse:

Robinella Kicks Off Market Square Spring Concert Series Tonight

Last week, Jack Neely wrote about Robinella's upcoming album, Ode to Love, set for release in June. Jack described it as "a mixture of gypsy jazz and country, with a variety of top-flight instrumentalists," including "Dobro wizard" Rob Ickes and New York guitarist Frank Vignola. You might be able to get a preview of the new album tonight at 7 p.m. on Market Square when Robinella inaugurates the city's new season of its summer concert series.

The series continues on Thursdays through June 27, with performances by the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra (May 9), Ensemble Swing Time Band (May 16), Kelsey's Woods (May 23), Sean McCollough and the Kid Stuff Band (May 30), Sam Hatmaker (June 6), Brad Blackwell (June 13), the Knoxville Community Band (June 20), and the Southern Drawl Band (June 27). The concerts are free and start at 7 p.m.

There's more music on the Square to come--on Tuesday, May 7, the Marble City 5 kick off the annual Jazz on the Square series, which will run weekly through Aug. 27.
