The Daily Plan-It: New Art, Disease and Pest Control Class, and MilkDrive

Good morning! It's cold! Who else had to dig out a heavier jacket from the back of the closet this morning? Well keep your sweaters on and check out what's going on today.

There are several new art exhibits around town this week. At Farragut Town Hall, be sure to check out "Young at HeART," which features works done by the senior art group at Marietta Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The town hall opens at 8 a.m. and is open till 5 p.m. The Emporium Center for Arts and Culture has works from students, professors, and tutors at Wroclaw, Poland's Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design graphic arts and media art classes. The center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jake Wheeler's "Urban Photographs" exhibit at 2 Many Pixels Gallery depicts the decay of urban settings and its effects. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It's free to check out all the art.

At noon in the visitor center, Chris Cernak will play for WDVX's Blue Plate Special with the Johnson Swingtet. As always, it's free to attend. Bring your lunch!

At 5 p.m., Beardsley Community Farm will have a class on disease and pest control for your garden this year. It's free to attend! 

MilkDrive, Austin, Texas natives, will play for WDVX's Tennessee Shines series tonight at 7 with ex-Knoxville singer/songwriter Sam Lewis and poet Kay Newton. Tickets are $10. You can buy them this afternoon at the Blue Plate Special or at the doors (which open at 6). 

It's Comedy Con Queso Comedy Open Mic Night at the Well again. If you open a tab, you get free cheese. And laughs, of course. The show starts at 9. There's no cover! 21+ only.

Dullahan will play at the Pilot Light tonight at 10 with Weird Girl. It's $5 to attend. 18+ only.
